The Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans (OSF-WB) is pleased to announce this Call for Proposals, aimed at supporting the initiatives of the OSF-WB Alumni Network.

For over 30 years, the Open Society Foundations (OSF) has fostered a global community of change-makers, creating connections, friendships, and a shared commitment to open societies. Building on this legacy, OSF-WB connects alumni from the Western Balkans to collectively advance the cause of an open society and champion initiatives for enduring social change.

This Call for Proposals supports innovative project ideas from OSF-WB Alumni that advance the goals of OSF-WB, serving as a platform and catalyst for collaboration.

OSF-WB will award grants to group project proposals under the following three main programmatic pillars:

1. EU Integration and Regional Cooperation
2. Just Energy Transition
3. Digital Transformation

OSF-WB will support projects with a strong regional dimension and encourage the formation of cross-border consortiums.

The outputs of the alumni projects should significantly strengthen and enhance programmatic work, driving innovation within our areas of intervention. We encourage applicants to propose project ideas that not only address immediate objectives but also have the potential for consolidation and deepening over a long-term period. This approach will ensure sustainability and long-term impact of these projects.

The Alumni Call for Proposals is open until EOD November 28^th, 2025, and is subject to funds availability.  

Duration of eligible projects – the initial planned duration of a project may not be lower than 3 months nor exceed 12 months.

The implementation of the projects must end before 1 December 2026.
