Aleksandar Macura

Aleksandar Macura is an electrical engineer specializing in power systems, with a degree from the University of Belgrade. He also completed a one-year specialist program in Energy Law at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law. Aleksandar previously led the Energy and Environment Program at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and brings more than two decades of experience in public policy related to sustainable energy.
Since 2015, he has been the co-founder and Program Director of the RES Foundation, an organization dedicated to research, knowledge creation, and knowledge sharing to support evidence-based policymaking in the fields of energy and climate change.
His work focuses on key issues such as energy efficiency, energy poverty, decentralized renewable energy production (including small-scale solar power), air pollution, climate change mitigation, and public financing for energy and environmental protection.
