The project will conduct a comprehensive final evaluation of alumni schools participating in the OSF-WB Sunny Schools Initiative across Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia. Using a mixed-methods approach, it will assess around 70 treatment (PV-equipped) and matched control schools that participated in 2024. The evaluation aims to analyze school characteristics, energy efficiency, economic indicators, academic performance, and the knowledge, skills, and competencies of students, as well as school environment and stakeholder engagement. It will specifically examine the impact of photovoltaic (PV) investments on educational outcomes, school autonomy, parental involvement, and trust in innovative energy solutions.

The methodology combines quantitative surveys (students, teachers, and parents) with qualitative focus groups and technical fieldwork reports to ensure a robust and evidence-based assessment. Country-level findings will be consolidated into a regional comparative report. The final regional report will compare PV and non-PV schools, measuring social and educational impacts, energy production potential, and cost data. The results are intended to inform policy and advocacy efforts and support the scaling of sustainable, green school models across the region.
