This project aims to pilot the installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in 2 public schools in Montenegro to significantly reduce their electricity costs, enhance their institutional autonomy, and actively support Montenegro’s ambitious decarbonization and renewable energy goals.

The project will begin with comprehensive technical assessments to ensure optimal system design, followed by the procurement and professional installation of PV equipment, and careful legal structuring to guarantee that generated savings remain within school budgets.

Alongside these practical interventions, the project includes targeted educational activities designed to build awareness and deepen understanding of renewable energy among students, teachers, and local communities.

A professionally produced promotional film will document the entire process, capturing successes, lessons learned, and the broader community impact, thereby facilitating replication and scalability.

Ultimately, this initiative demonstrates a viable and community-driven model for integrating renewable energy solutions into Montenegro’s public education sector, empowering schools not only as energy consumers but as active leaders and role models in the national energy transition.
