Between May and June 2025, Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans commissioned a survey of over 6,000 Gen Zers (16- to 28-year-olds) living in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia to measure political attitudes, concerns, and the hopes of an up-and-coming generation. Combining statistically representative sample surveys in six countries, this report provides convincing data across the region showing how Generation Z believes in democracy, values elections, and supports a European future.
