The scientific research “Openly about Police and Corruption” deals with the investigation of corruption in the police, as a state body that should oppose all types of crime. Previous research that has been conducted shows that 55% of citizens in BiH believe that almost all or most of the police forces are corrupt, and that of all the institutions offered, according to the opinion of 7.5% of citizens, the police is the most corrupt institution in BiH.

The goals that were sought to be achieved by this research are:

• contribution to the previous efforts of national police structures and the international community towards the fight against police corruption;
• contribution to the establishment of cooperation between the government sector (Ministry of Interior), the civil sector (Association of Graduate Criminalists) and international organizations (EUPM);
• to create a database containing key legal lists that regulate the fight against police corruption in BiH;
• to conduct a substantive analysis of international legal instruments ratified by BiH, and to determine which obligations relate to the organization and activities of police forces in BiH;
• determine the extent to which police forces in BiH apply national legislation in the fight against corruption within their own ranks, but also in the fight against corruption in general;
• determine the degree of participation of members of police structures in corrupt behavior.
  

The Association of Graduate Criminalists in BiH is directly interested in significantly improving the image of police structures in the eyes of the public and in showing citizens that corruption in the police is not at the level it is presented to be, and that police structures in BiH are investing significant efforts to successfully combat the phenomenon of corruption.

Otvoreno o policiji i korupciji

Naučno-istraživački rad „Otvoreno o policiji i korupciji“ se bavi istraživanjem korupcije u policiji, kao državnom organu koji se treba suprotstavljati svim vrstama kriminaliteta. Prethodna istraživanja koja su provedena, pokazuju da 55% građana u BiH smatra da su gotovo svi ili većina policijskih snaga korumpirani, te da je od svih ponuđenih institucija, prema mišljenju 7,5% građana, policija najkorumpiranija institucija BiH.

Ciljevi koji su željeli da se postignu ovim istraživanjem su:

• doprinos dosadašnjim naporima nacionalnih policijskih struktura i međunarodne zajednice prema borbi policije protiv korupcije;
• doprinos uspostavljanju saradnje između vladinog sektora (MUP-ova), civilnog sektora (Udruženje diplomiranih kriminalista) i međunarodnih organizacija (EUPM);
• sačiniti bazu podataka koja sadrži ključne pravne popise koji reguliraju borbu policije protiv korupcije u BiH;
• izvršiti sadržajnu analizu međunarodnih pravnih instrumenata, koje je ratificirala BiH, i utvrditi koje se obaveze odnose na organizaciju i djelatnosti policijskih snaga u BiH;
• utvrditi u kojoj mjeri policijske snage u BiH primjenjuju nacionalno zakonodavstvo u borbi protiv korupcije u vlastitim redovima, ali i u borbi protiv korupcije uopćeno;
• utvrditi stepen učešća pripadnika policijskih struktura u koruptivnim ponašanjima.
  

Udruženje diplomiranih kriminalista u BiH je neposredno zainteresovano da se imidž policijskih struktura u očima javnosti značajno popravi i da pokaže građanima da korupcija u policiji nije na onom nivou kako se želi predstaviti, te da policijske strukture u BiH ulažu značajne napore kako bi se uspješno suprotstavili fenomenu korupcije.
