This brief report is based on the findings and conclusions of a national study on the views, attitudes, and practices of school principals and parents regarding parental involvement and school-family collaboration. The study was conducted with the support of the Education Support Program of the Open Society Foundations as part of the project for Advancing the Quality of Education and Inclusion in Southeast Europe.

Following an in-depth analysis of the study results, the current situation, and scientific publications related to the topic, this document provides essential information on the significant importance and effective ways of involving parents in their children’s education. Additionally, a number of recommendations are formulated at the policy, school, and community levels to enhance parental involvement through the creation and strengthening of school-family-community collaboration and partnerships. These recommendations are intended to assist teachers, school directors, local, regional, and national educational institutions, as well as organizations and individuals interested in improving the quality of education and student outcomes.
