This report provides descriptive results from two surveys conducted among primary school students and their parents in Tirana and Elbasan, Albania. The surveys aim to gather information that will be used to examine the impact of implementing green energy generation projects in school buildings on educational outcomes, parental engagement, and trust in innovative energy solutions.

The study will employ a difference-in-difference study designed to measure indicators of change resulting from the planned investments in ten schools. The three hypotheses that will be tested are: i) Implementing green energy projects will positively impact educational outcomes, improving student academic performance, engagement, and overall achievement. ii) green energy initiatives will increase parental engagement in their children’s education. iii) green energy projects will contribute to an increase in trust towards innovative and green energy solutions.

The data collection for the pre-treatment period spanned from April 19th, 2023, to May 15th, 2023. A total of 1663 successful interviews were conducted with primary school students, and 700 successful interviews were conducted with their parents using the CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) and CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing) approaches.
