Written by Geena Whiteman, the policy paper “Young and Female: Experiences of and Barriers to Kosovo’s ‘Digital-Social’ Start-Up Scene”  looks at the emergence of a digital-social entrepreneurship eco-system in Kosovo, focusing specifically on the challenges that young women face engaging in this form of entrepreneurship. Women are more likely to be inclined to- wards social entrepreneurship, however, the technology sector has historically been considered to be more male-driven and less accessible for women, and entrepreneurship more broadly considered to be more challenging for young people due to a lack of resources. Therefore, this paper explores the unique challenges that young women face establishing their own businesses in a male dominated space, whilst also pursuing ‘social value’.

Vajza të reja: Përvojat dhe pengesat në start up skenën ‘socio-digjitale’ të Kosovës

Shkruar nga Geena Whiteman, dokumenti i politikave “Vajza të reja: Përvojat dhe pengesat në start up skenën ‘socio-digjitale’ të Kosovës” shqyrton shfaqjen e një ekosistemi të ndërmarrësisë socio-digjitale në Kosovë, duke u fokusuar veçanërisht në sfidat me të cilat përballen gratë e reja duke u angazhuar në këtë formë të ndërmarrësisë. Gratë kanë më shumë gjasa të jenë të prirura drejt sipërmarrjes sociale, megjithatë sektori i teknologjisë është konsideruar historikisht të jetë më i drejtuar nga burrat dhe më pak i aksesueshëm për gratë dhe sipërmarrja konsiderohet më gjerësisht si më sfiduese për të rinjtë për shkak të mungesës së burimeve. Prandaj, ky punim eksploron sfidat unike me të cilat përballen të rejat për të krijuar bizneset e tyre në një hapësirë të dominuar nga burrat, ndërkohë që ndjekin ‘vlerat sociale’.
