“Vuk Karadžić” Secondary School Hosts Community Forum on Sustainability

On November 12, 2024 the Secondary School “Vuk Karadžić” organized a transformative community forum to strategize the reinvestment of savings from its photovoltaic system, installed in 2023. The event brought together 120 participants, including teachers, students, parents, and local officials, who collaborated to set environmental priorities for the school.
Key topics discussed included energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste management, and schoolyard landscaping. The forum introduced a participatory decision-making process, empowering the community to play an active role in shaping the school’s eco-projects.
The next session, planned for early 2025, will finalize the priorities and select a project to present to the Municipality of Lopare. This initiative reflects a commitment to sustainability and democracy, as the school continues to lead by example in building a greener, more inclusive future.
