Who we are


The Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans (OSF-WB) is a regional entity working in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.


The purpose and mission of OSF-WB is to inspire and enable open societies across the region through strategic presence and interventions in key regional and European spaces and priorities.

OSF WB believes in and works towards a prosperous Western Balkans with democratic governments and open societies successfully integrated into the EU.


Our mission is to enable open societies in the region through strategic presence and interventions in key European and regional spaces and priorities.


Through our interventions we induce a dynamic link between the governing and the governed – in a pursuit of a unified regional agenda for prosperity.
