Mirza Kusljugic
President of the Assembly, the RESET Center Sarajevo
Mirza Kušljugić received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo. Until 2021, he served at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Tuzla, where he is currently an emeritus professor. From 2001 to 2005, he was the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations Mission in New York. Between 2006 and 2014, he served as a member of the House of Representatives in the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and subsequently in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He is currently President of the Assembly of the RESET Center for Sustainable Energy Transition, a research-based think-and-do tank based in Sarajevo dedicated to advancing the region’s energy transition through applied research, policy innovation, and capacity building. His main research interests include: Sustainable Energy Transition Management; Modelling, analysis, and planning of electric power systems; Technologies and integration of renewable energy resources and Energy efficiency and energy management, with a focus on industrial small and medium-sized enterprises and local communities
Professor Kušljugić has served as project manager and/or expert in more than 30 projects in the field of sustainable energy transition, implemented in cooperation with international partners such as the Open Society Foundations (Bosnia and Herzegovina and Western Balkans), the European Climate Foundation, the Heinrich Böll Foundation, UNDP, GIZ, and Sida.
He is the author of five scientific and educational books, more than 50 scientific papers, and over 40 specialized technical studies and policy analyses.
